Discover Uganda safaris 2026-2027
Nestled on the equator, Uganda’s pristine wilderness is spread across an array of beautiful landscapes such as lush forests, lakes, savannahs, and misty mountains dusted with snow. Uganda is famous for its gorillas, and the country has a selection of excellent parks that are home to various big game – such as elephants, leopards, and lions – as well as a range of unique and endemic species such as the Rothschild giraffe and chimpanzees.
Uganda forests are ancient, adding to the rich biodiversity and allure. Uganda is also home to over 1000 species of birds which are found across the country. Other unique features of Uganda are its rivers and lakes; Uganda is where the source of the Nile River can be found, specifically in Jinja.
Uganda’s appeal extends to its cultural diversity and rich history. Ugandans are famously welcoming and generous, adding a touch of warmth to any safari experience. One popular safari combination is from Uganda to Kenya, or other iconic East African destinations, where you will find an extension of this incredible cultural and natural diversity.

Best Time To Visit Uganda
The Dry Season 2026
June to August
Uganda experiences two rainy seasons and two dry seasons. The peak months of June to August offer the best time to visit Uganda for wildlife spotting, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking. Due to its subtropical climate, rain can be a possibility at any time of year, particularly in the rainforest.
December to February
This is Uganda’s second dry season, offering mild temperatures and great opportunities for gorilla trekking, birding, and safari. Forest trails are dryer during this time, making gorilla trekking a little easier.
The Green Season 2026
September to November
Rainfall can be expected from September through to November, though wildlife viewing is still possible in some parks and birding is excellent.
March to May
This is Uganda’s long wet season when its heaviest rainfall occurs. During this time, you can anticipate regular downpours, though birding is exceptional, the country is lush and green, and wildlife are birthing their young. Trails may be slippery underfoot and good quality rain gear is essential.
