The Chobe Region is one of Botswana’s most wildlife-rich areas, boasting colossal elephant herds, plenty of predators, birdlife and unique species such as the African wild dog.
The Chobe Region encompasses multiple gems, including the Chobe National Park and the Selinda Spillway that connects to the Savuti and Linyanti regions. It is also a gateway to the magnificent Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya. Each of these pristine wilderness areas is famous for its game viewing. Savuti is the home of a mega pride of marsh lions that are known to hunt elephants and battle against competing hyena packs. While Linyanti and Chobe National Park boast exceptional birdlife and brilliant wildlife encounters.
Chobe can be explored in multiple different ways, on a luxurious river cruise that meanders the Chobe and Zambezi rivers, on a game drive, on horseback, on a walking safari or in a mobile camp. Chobe’s accommodation ranges from luxury tented camps that track the Savuti to world-class lodges.
From the quirky town of Kasane, the magnificent Victoria Falls is easily accessible. From here, pairing an exceptional safari with one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World is a breeze. Chobe to Victoria Falls is a short drive or charter flight, Kasane is only 87km from the Falls, making for the ideal day trip.
