Encompassing the southeastern section of Zimbabwe, Savé Valley & Gonarezhou National Park is a network of exceptional private reserves and national parks that embody a big game safari in a pristine wilderness setting. Each location has a range of authentic tented camps and luxury lodges, with Malilangwe offering standout private lodges that will surely be the highlight of any luxury safari.
However, what makes these parks truly special is the wildlife. Gonarezhou National Park is one of the largest parks in Zimbabwe, second only to Hwange. It shares unfenced borders with South Africa’s Kruger and the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique, together making up one of the largest conservation areas in the world. Known as ‘the land of elephants’ these incredible animals aren’t the only giants in the park and can be seen tracking below the magnificent Chilojo Cliffs that adorn it. Other wildlife include the Big 5 and wild dogs.
The next exceptional reserve in the region is the extremely exclusive Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve. Under the protection of the Malilangwe Trust, the area has a globally significant population of both black and white rhinos. The reserve also offers the chance to witness fantastic populations of cheetahs, elephants, leopards, wild dogs, lions and plains game such as mighty buffalo herds.
Savé Valley Conservancy is one of the largest private game reserves in Africa, stretching roughly 3040 km² with a natural eastern border formed by the Savé River. It is a Big 5 reserve with great rhino and wild dog populations, as well as more than 300 bird species. Each of these reserves works together and independently in order to uplift local communities and conserve their wildlife.
